Cecily Daniels Napaltjarri is the Daughter of celebrated artist Barney Daniels. Cecily grew up in an outstation called 5 Mile just outside Papunya, where she learned to paint from her father when she was a young girl.

Cecily's painting style is characteristic of the Western Desert Painters using dots and linework to tell important Dreaming stories.

Cecily often depicts significant land formations like waterholes or 'tali' (sandhills), as well as painting the Tingari Dreaming Cycle. The Tingari is part of the Creation era, when Dreaming ancestors traversed across the Western Desert, creating the features of the landscape as they went, and performing rituals of song and dance to ensure the passing on of knowledge to the next generation.
