Biography:
Adam Chang is one of Australia's leading contemporary artists. His large canvases with iconic imagery have firmly placed him in the sights of significant collectors in Australia and Asia, particularly in his native China where he is regarded as one of the most powerful painters in the international art world.
Chang lived through Mao's Cultural Revolution in China and acutely understands the influence the man had, not only on China, but the world. It is for this reason Chang has depicted the Communist leader numerous times.
Chang is a six-time Archibald Prize finalist, two-time finalist in the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and his 2013 portrait of Charlie Teo has recently been collected by the National Portrait Gallery.
